Jiu-Jitsu has often been compared to chess, forcing practitioners to think several steps ahead and to be clear-headed under pressure. So in addition to fortifying the body, it fortifies the mind.
Fonseca Martial Arts and Redzovic Jiu-Jitsu have partnered up to offer FMA Students the opportunity to learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Professor Anthony Kalina, who is a black belt in the Redzovic program. This program will start at Highland Park, Glenview, and Park Ridge, and will eventually be implemented at our other dojos. We are excited to teach the Redzovic BJJ curriculum at our dojos.
The Youth Program was created to provide children ages 7 to 13 with an environment that allows them to experience and understand core values such as focus, discipline, persistence, cooperation and respect.
We provide a challenging, yet safe environment for a child to mature towards character development, confidence, and self-defense skills. Jiu-jitsu is also great way to give children the tools to deal with bullying or other dangerous situations in an emotionally mature, non-violent way.
In the Adult Program, you will learn the worlds most effective, most complete Self-Defense style, Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a fun, safe, and cooperative learning environment. The primary focus of the Adult Program is to teach you how to use Jiu-Jitsu techniques from a Self Defense perspective.
This is the same as the adult program, but for women only. Our women’s jiu-jitsu program is designed to be a safe and supportive environment for women of all ages and experience levels, where you can learn the skills you need to defend yourself. This class is currently being offered in our Highland Park location.
