Filipino Martial Arts

Learn the three dimensional fighting system of Filipino Martial Arts: Buntalan/Suntukan(Stand up Fighting), Buno (Grappling), Eskrima (Fencing)

This class will offer insights into the practical use of weapons as well as empty hand skills with an emphasis on self -defense.Weapons skills will be taught through the Filipino martial arts. In this class three methods of self-defense are covered.

Buntalan/Suntukan (Stand-up fighting) is an empty hand fighting system also known as 9 Limbs Boxing Style. It utilizes punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and headbutts.

Buno (grappling) is an ancient tribal wrestling that involves throws and takedowns, submission locks, chokes and striking.

Eskrima (fencing) is an art based on the knowledge of using edged weapons:Long sword, short sword, dagger, stick and dagger, double stick, spear, staff, and sarong. Anything you can get your hands on becomes a potenitial weapon once the concepts and principles are understood.

Sundays: 1pm-2:30pm
