On Saturday, Two-Time WKF World Champion Sensei George Kotaka will be conducting a Kumite Seminar from 11-1 pm. Following the seminar, the tournament will start at 2pm with our Advanced and Elite Kata divisions. The men's and women's Elite Kata finals will be held at 7pm with the winners taking home $1500 each.

At 4 pm, our Elite 18-34 year old men and women Kumite divisions will begin.  The elite men's kumite division will be split into four categories:  -67kg, -75kg, -84kg, and +84 kg. The winners of each category will fight for the grand championship prize of $3000. The elite women's kumite division will also be split into four categories: -55kg, -61kg, -68kg, and +68kg. The winners of each category will fight for the grand championship prize of $3000. The Elite grand championship kumite and kata finals will be start at 7pm.  Eimi Kurita, world medalist and Pan American champion will be among some of the elite athletes in these divisions.  We encourage families to come Saturday evening to see world class competition.

On Sunday, at 9am, will be the 7 years and under children's divisions.  Every division will be split by age and skill.  If certain divisions are small, the tournament directors have the authority to combine divisions.  Divisions for kata, kihon and kumite will all be run from the same ring so that children and their parents do not have to move around and re-stage every time. Following the these children divisions, we will begin the 8-11 year old children's divisions at 11 am. Children's divisions 12 years and above will stage at 2pm. Following all of the children and teenage divsions, the tournament will conclude with all of the beginner, novice, and intermediate adult divisions, with a staging time of 3:30 pm.

We encourage all FMA students to participate in this event.  Even little dragons who have little experience can do the kihon and kumite events.  Helpers will be on hand to assist young students with katas too.  Senseis are working with students in class to prepare them for competing by practicing the format and etiquette in class.  Our goal is to provide a fun and memorable experience for all of our students.
