What You Can Do to Help:

The answer is simple…

JOIN OUR CLUB AND MAKE IT YOUR CLUB

We’re an organization that wants to do more for our karate students. We want to help advance and reward them for the hard work and effort they put forth. We want to help them understand the true benefits of their karate training. And, we want to show them that we support them 100%. Therefore, we not only need help in continuing the activities we’ve already started, but we also encourage your fresh, new ideas.

So, join our club. We need your help no matter how much time you can devote to it.

2011 Open Positions

We need volunteers to help manage the following efforts. Should you be interested in volunteering, please contact Kim Erwin or Kathy Jen. We will provide assistance with promotions and communications, and offer any guidance you want.

Scholarship Chair

Each year, the booster club seeks to broker as many needs-based scholarship as we can fund. This is one of the ways we try to give back to our local community. This position works to recruit full and partial scholarship donors, after whom we will name the scholarships. The position is also responsible for soliciting potential recipients through the various FMA programs, and reviewing submissions with the Executive Booster Club members and FMA Sensei.

4th of July Chair

Marching in the parade is good for the dojo and really fun for participating kids. They feel famous! This position is straight-forward and focused: recruit and organize potential students to walk in the parade and manage them onsite. We have detailed instructions to help you out. This is all about advanced planning and logistics. Once there, it’s a blast!

Movie night Chair

Movie night is a spirit event we run to build connection among the younger kids who might not feel a part of the FMA community just yet. We’ve tried out various models, and found the event has high appeal no matter what. This position plans and executes a 2.5 or 4 hour (your pick) event at the dojo on a Saturday night of your choice. It’s always been run as a revenue-neutral event, with extra funds (after expenses) going to the babysitters. We have lots of written instructions to help give you structure and operating guidelines.
