Sensei Dahlia holds a 4th degree black belt in Shotokan karate from JKA Philippines, under Shihan Masanori Takahashi (a JKA representative in the Philippines). She has been practicing Shotokan karate for over 20 years. Until she moved to the U.S.A., Sensei Dahlia had her own dojo in the Philippines, which she had run for three years. Sensei Dahlia has also had experience as a national karate coach. At the 12th Gichin Funakoshi World Karate Cup in Pattaya, Thailand she helped coach the national team. Besides coaching, she has also had extensive experience as a competitor. In the Philippines, she had participated in many national championships where she qualified to become a member of the National Kata Team.
